This is how we make popular Chinese chicken noodles

These days we are following the best performances of our athletes in Beijing, who delight us every day with new and new successes. However, the Olympics also encouraged us to look at Chinese recipe collections. Asian food, which is somewhat tailored to Europeans in Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, has a characteristic sweet-salty taste and a delicate texture.

You have probably already tried some of their silk dishes, which are usually served with a portion of rice. Asia is also known for its noodles and this time we will prepare one of the recipes for them. We will treat to a Chinese dish called chow mein, which in some provinces is also known as lo mein. It is a mixture of vegetables and chicken, baked together with excellent noodles and seasoned with soy sauce and oysters. Their fusion brings to mind this typical Asian umami. Corn starch will take care of the silky structure.

The recipe for this great and simple dish can be found below, but there really will be no doubt, for a better show we are adding a video of a Chinese chef. Run well or hǎo wèikǒu, as you wish in China!

Chinese Chow Mein Noodles

Marinated chicken

  • 300 g boneless chicken
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • a few tips of pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oildressing
  • 220 ml of hot water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • a few tips of white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

other part

  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 420 g Chinese noodles
  • Chinese vegetables (we recommend a little choi, soy cabbage, carrots and cabbage cut into strips)

Preparation

1. First cut the chicken into strips and marinate it with light soy sauce, salt, pepper and cornstarch. Mix well and add more sesame oil. Stir again and let rest for 20 minutes.

2. Then prepare the sauce. Shake a tablespoon of sugar, a tablespoon of light soy sauce, a tablespoon of sea sauce and two tablespoons of dark soy sauce in hot water. Add the white pepper and stir to melt the sugar, then add the sesame oil and set aside.

3. Noodles: heat the pan, look at the wok and pour a few drops of oil into it. Add the chicken and fry on both sides. Add the minced garlic and when it has flavor, add the cooked noodles. Bake for one to two minutes, then stir in the vegetable mixture. Add the sauce.

4. Bake them all together, stirring until the juices enter the noodles. Then it’s time to serve them all together.

For me, the kitchen is a place where I can completely relax and detach myself from the world while cooking, and at the same time a great backdrop for relaxed companionship.
