Recipe: Chicken in curry sauce with cabbage and spinach

Liquid chicken pieces in a creamy curry sauce can be served on a plate, along with noodles, rice, quinoa, couscous, mashed potatoes… and a bowl of cabbage spinach salad.

The sauce with which the chicken is washed is amazing. After the initial short marinade of the chicken with the mustard and salt and pepper, prepare the sauce with milk and excellent spices – with a warm mixture of curry spices and for a hot note with cayenne pepper. You can also remove or use this if you wish, or more or less. To enliven the sauce, you can toss it with a few drops of lemon juice before serving.

INGREDIENTS (for 4 people):

Ingredients for curry sauce:

500 g chicken

1 tablespoon mustard

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons oil

1 tablespoon curry

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 dl milk

a few drops of lemon juice

Other ingredients:

4 bombs

1 handful of spinach

1 can of cabbage


Cut the chicken into cubes. Arrange them with salt, pepper and mustard and mix them well and leave them for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.

Fry the chicken cubes well in a pan with hot oil. Add the curry and cayenne pepper and mix well so that the spices stick to all the chicken cubes. Pour in the milk, stir and simmer for about 10 minutes so that the meat is fully cooked constantly and the sauce turns into a creamy sauce. Then try and refine if necessary. Add a few drops of lemon juice to cool the sauce.

If you plan to serve the chicken with curry sauce in a sandwich, cut the bread in half, then spread the spinach on it, then the chicken, the sprouts and, if desired, a little chili powder, then finish the assembly with the top half of the bread. Serve immediately.

Of course, you can serve the chicken on a plate with curry cream sauce, in addition to noodles, rice, quinoa, couscous, mashed potatoes … and a bowl of cabbage spinach salad.
